Paul Thomas joined the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago in May 2025 to lead strategic initiatives for the Mortgage Partnership Finance® (MPF®) Program. Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Thomas served as a consultant to financial services companies and fintechs from 2023 to 2025. He was Vice President of Finance and Capital Markets at Zillow from 2019 to 2022, leading financial planning and analysis and capital markets activities for the mortgage segment. Mr. Thomas previously held senior leadership roles in mortgage capital markets at Pingora Asset Management, SunTrust (now Truist), National City and Freddie Mac, focused on pricing, market risk management, structured finance and investment portfolio management. Mr. Thomas is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) charter holder and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in finance from the University of Denver.
