Dan Mahlum

Dan Mahlum serves as Director of Mortgage Programs at FHLB Des Moines and is responsible for developing mortgage products and strategies that meet the needs of member institutions. With more than 35 years of mortgage banking experience, he has held leadership positions in servicing, finance and secondary marketing across community banking and large mortgage banking organizations. Prior to joining FHLB Des Moines, Dan held leadership roles at Nationwide Bank, CitiMortgage and Principal Residential Mortgage, Inc. He also serves as chairman of the Governing Council of the Mortgage Partnership Finance® (MPF®) Program.

Brad Meader

Brad Meader is a Senior Relationship Manager at FHLB Des Moines and has more than 30 years of experience in the banking and mortgage industries. Since joining the Bank in 2005, he has worked closely with participating financial institutions and prospective members to support their use of the MPF Program. His previous responsibilities have included mortgage operations, quality control, member training and program implementation. Brad is a graduate of the School of Mortgage Banking, holds the Accredited Mortgage Professional designation and has completed both the Graduate School of Banking and the Certificate of Executive Leadership program through the Wisconsin School of Business.

Katie Sudmann

Katie Sudmann is a Mortgage Relationship Manager at FHLB Des Moines with more than 14 years of mortgage industry experience. In her role, she provides guidance on the MPF Program, product offerings and member engagement opportunities while leading a team of mortgage professionals. She also serves on the MPF Product Management & Development and Technology & Implementation subcommittees.

Laura Turrittin

Laura Turrittin is a Mortgage Relationship Manager at FHLB Des Moines, supporting members across Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. She has more than 25 years of experience in the mortgage industry and has held a variety of sales and operational leadership positions within independent mortgage banking organizations and regional banks. Laura is passionate about advancing the mission of FHLB Des Moines and helping members achieve their housing and homeownership objectives. She is a graduate of St. Olaf College.

Teresa Ennen

Teresa Ennen serves as Relationship and Operations Manager in the Mortgage Product Group at FHLB Des Moines. Since joining the FHLB Des Moines in 2015, she has specialized in mortgage product implementation, rollout and member support while helping oversee department operations. Teresa has more than 10 years of mortgage industry experience and is committed to fostering strong partnerships between the Bank and participating financial institutions. She holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Grand View University.

Donna Iddins

Donna Iddins has more than 45 years of mortgage industry experience and has been part of the FHLB Des Moines MPF Program team for more than two decades. She provides training and support for new and existing participating financial institutions and helps ensure members have the resources needed to conduct business through the MPF Program. Throughout her career, Donna has held leadership roles overseeing processing, closing, secondary market and post-closing operations.

Valerie Harris

Valerie Harris is a Mortgage Relationship Specialist at FHLB Des Moines with nearly 30 years of mortgage industry experience. Since joining the Bank in 2010, she has supported current and prospective participating financial institutions throughout their relationship with the MPF Program. Her background includes experience in closing, processing, underwriting, loan origination and mortgage operations management. Valerie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University.

Gabriela Davila

Gabriela Davila serves as a Senior MPF Solutions Analyst at FHLB Des Moines and has more than 10 years of banking industry experience. Since joining the Bank in June 2026, she has supported participating financial institutions through mortgage program solutions and member engagement initiatives. Prior to joining FHLB Des Moines, Gabriela worked as a Mortgage Loan Originator for both a participating financial institution and an independent mortgage bank. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Iowa State University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Drake University.

Carson Owens

Carson Owens supports member education for the MPF Program at FHLB Des Moines. His work includes the creation of training videos, educational resources and digital content designed to help participating financial institutions better understand and utilize MPF products and services. Carson first joined FHLB Des Moines as a Training/Marketing Communications Intern in early 2025 and returned earlier this year to continue supporting member engagement and learning initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management from Iowa State University.

Rory Cline

Rory Cline serves as Operations Manager at FHLB Des Moines and has more than 15 years of mortgage banking experience. His areas of expertise include mortgage default, loss mitigation and mortgage servicing compliance. Prior to joining FHLB Des Moines, Rory served as Manager of Default Operations and as a Compliance Consultant at Nationwide Bank. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the University of Iowa and a Master of Arts degree from Duke University.

Connie Kent

Connie Kent is a Senior Mortgage Analyst at FHLB Des Moines and brings more than 30 years of banking and mortgage experience to her role. Since joining the Bank in 2013, she has focused on quality control, default and servicing activities. Her professional background includes mortgage origination, processing, underwriting and secondary market relationships, as well as experience working for a participating financial institution.

Ryan Peterson

Ryan Peterson serves as Lead Mortgage and Compliance Analyst at FHLB Des Moines and has more than 20 years of mortgage banking experience. Since joining the Bank in 2021, he has provided leadership in mortgage compliance, quality assurance and operational oversight. His professional background includes roles in mortgage sales, default servicing, customer service and quality control. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
