Dupaco, FHLB Des Moines Help Veteran Achieve Homeownership Goals

Veteran among many Dupaco members impacted with more affordable housing through Mortgage Rate Relief.
Headquartered in Dubuque, Iowa, Dupaco Community Credit Union is dedicated to the financial wellbeing of its members who live across Iowa, northwest Illinois and southwest Wisconsin. Partnering with Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, Dupaco has helped make homeownership more affordable for their members utilizing Mortgage Rate Relief to lower mortgage interest rates.
One of those members is veteran Brandon. Brandon worked with Dupaco Sr. Online Mortgage Lending Consultant Tressa Pergande and not only achieved his home ownership goals but helped his parents as well.
Brandon sold his first home to his parents who were downsizing. Wanting a bigger home but faced with higher prices and rates, Brandon was hesitant to purchase at a higher price. With Tressa’s assistance, Brandon learned he qualified for Mortgage Rate Relief and was comfortable with the higher purchase price. After several months of searching with Tressa, Brandon purchased a larger home with a lower monthly mortgage payment courtesy of Mortgage Rate Relief.

FHLB Des Moines launched Mortgage Rate Relief in 2024 to lower mortgage interest rates, making homeownership more affordable. The product enables eligible borrowers to receive an approximate 1.5% reduction on their mortgage rate — a game-changer for both monthly affordability and long-term cost.
