Every Participating Financial Institution has a dedicated relationship manager to provide education and guidance on delivering loans. As an MPF Program provider, FHLB Des Moines offers a variety of products that can increase your competitive advantage, enhance your relationship with both your borrowers and community and reduce your interest rate risk.
Brad Meader

Brad brings more than 30 years of experience in the mortgage and finance industry as Senior Mortgage Relationship Manager. He served 12 years in community financial institution lending positions and has spent more than 20 years in multiple mortgage-related roles with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines.
“Over my two decades involvement with the Bank’s mortgage programs I’ve witnessed the variety of ways that our members leverage the value we deliver through the MPF program to support and grow their mortgage business. Those new and longtime relationships truly are a partnership, and the track record of shared success is a testament to our members.”
Brad and his wife have three children, with a couple more years of college remaining for the youngest. He enjoys watching them grow in their chosen fields and endeavors, and is learning to transition to the “trusted advisor” role with his kids. In his spare time, he enjoys travel and turning the wrench on vintage car restoration and upkeep.
Katie Sudmann
Connect with Mortgage Relationship Manager, Katie Sudmann who serves members across Alaska, Idaho, southern Iowa, Missouri, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
With more than 15 years of experience in the mortgage industry—including roles as a loan originator, processor, and underwriter—Katie brings deep expertise and a strategic perspective to support institutions participating in the MPF Program, partnering with members to deliver guidance on best practices, program participation, and emerging features and products that help drive success.
Since joining FHLB Des Moines in 2014 as an MPF trainer, Katie led the mortgage relationships support team for more than seven years before stepping into her current role in 2025. She actively contributes to the MPF Sales and Product Management & Development (PMD) sub-committee, where she plays a key role in shaping program enhancements that reflect the evolving needs of members. When she is not at work, Katie stays busy chasing around her four children.
Laura Turrittin
Connect with Mortgage Relationship Manager, Laura Turrittin who supports members in northern Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota in her role as Mortgage Relationship Manager. Laura has more than 25 years experience in the mortgage industry. She has held senior leadership roles across various respected financial institutions, with a proven track record of driving sales, enhancing operational efficiencies, and managing complex change processes, including mergers and acquisitions. Known for her collaborative approach and deep commitment to relationship-building, Laura is a trusted advisor to partners navigating the complexities of today’s mortgage landscape. She feels fortunate to champion the mission of FHLB Des Moines and advocate for our members.
Laura lives in Minnesota, where she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the great outdoors, pickling jalapenos and watching "Ted Lasso." She appreciates FHLB Des Moines' support of community involvement and volunteers with various community organizations. She is a graduate of St. Olaf College. She’s also on a personal mission to find the best cookie in every city she visits. Recommendations welcome!
